When the shoe sticks to the foot…

Do you feel your shoes sticking to your feet when walking? Do you take the insole out when taking off your shoes? This is a common problem that affects both women and men. Fortunately, this can be remedied! Especially for you, we have collected the most effective, proven ways that will help you deal with a shoe sticking to your foot in no time.

Why does the shoe stick to the foot?

Shoes sticking to the feet is a common problem that affects both men and women. To be able to effectively deal with this, it is worth starting with identifying the cause of this state of affairs.

In most cases, sweat is the culprit. Bare feet combined with shoes made of unnatural materials can intensify its formation, which in turn leads to the shoe sticking to the foot.

Another reason why a shoe sticks to your foot may be an incorrectly fitted insole. In the next part of the article, you will learn how to deal with this problem. To work!

The culprit: sweaty feet

Sweaty feet can make your shoes sticky. Whether it's flip flops, sandals or ballerinas, you want to put an end to this problem. We have several home remedies to get satisfactory results.

Use baby powder

To prevent your shoes from sticking to your foot, you need baby powder, which you can buy at almost any supermarket, drugstore or pharmacy. Powder sprinkled on the shoe insole will absorb moisture and prevent stickiness. You can replace baby powder with potato starch or foot powder.

Use a waterproof spray

Another effective way is to use a waterproof shoe spray. While this won't stop your feet from sweating, it can stop sweat from penetrating into the shoe material and forming a sticky layer. Just spray the insert and you're done!

How to prevent excessive foot sweating?

Both of these methods can only bring temporary results. To completely eliminate the problem of sticking shoes, it is worth getting rid of its main cause, i.e. excessive sweating of the feet.

In addition to the unpleasant smell and sticking feet to the shoe, sweaty feet can contribute to the formation of nail fungus and other unpleasant diseases. This is not only embarrassing but also very unpleasant! To prevent this, all you have to do is follow our tips.

First, choose airy, cotton socks. Synthetic fabrics can retain moisture and cause bacteria and fungus to multiply. Secondly, use various types of antiperspirants and foot talcum powders that will prevent the problem from escalating. Thirdly, before putting on socks, dry your feet thoroughly after bathing, focusing on the spaces between the toes.

Proper footwear selection is key to preventing excessive sweating. Avoid shoes made of artificial, non-breathable materials that can increase sweating of the feet. Instead, choose natural materials of good quality, such as leather or suede. Also pay special attention to shoe inserts. In shoe stores you will find a wide selection of insoles to prevent excessive sweating.

If you still have not managed to get rid of the problem, be sure to consult a specialist who will recommend you to use professional products available on prescription or refer you to therapy.

The culprit: no socks

Unlike closed shoes, when wearing sandals, you can't afford socks. In any other case, however, avoid wearing shoes with bare feet.

Nowadays, the choice of cuts of socks is practically unlimited. For ballerinas or loafers, choose tight-fitting versions or tights. In this way, you will create a protective layer between the foot and the shoe and prevent the insole from sticking.

The culprit: the wrong insole

We know perfectly well that annoying feeling when, after a long day on your feet, you finally take off your shoes and take out… the insole with your foot. Fortunately, just a few steps are enough to forget about this problem in the blink of an eye.

First, make sure that the insole you wear is made of a natural material. Choose leather insoles or innovative antibacterial insoles that will wick away moisture and keep your feet fresh and dry all day long.

Second, make sure you wear the correct size insoles. Avoid too small insoles that can slip and stick to your feet. Replace them with better fitting ones, and if necessary, cut them with scissors.

Thirdly, you can glue the insole to the shoe. For this purpose, you will need a special shoe glue that will keep the insole in place and ready! Under no circumstances should you use pins that could cause blisters or even detach and do more harm than good.

Better to prevent than to cure

We hope that our tips helped you deal with the problem of sticky shoes. Remember that prevention is better than cure, so if you feel that your shoes are sticking to your feet, be sure to try the methods we recommend before you get painful blisters.
