How to care for black leather shoes?

Black leather shoes are much easier to maintain than suede ones. Usually, all you need is a damp cloth to wipe away dirt and grime.

In the case of stubborn grease stains, baking soda will also be useful. Rub it into the upper of the shoe using a wet brush with delicate bristles, and then wipe it with a damp cloth.

Don't forget to oil your leather shoes regularly. This way you will not only nourish the material, but also prevent cracks from occurring. 

Regular polishing of shoes is equally important. Get a special shoe polish and carefully rub it into your shoes. You can use an old towel or a used sock for this purpose. Once you have thoroughly spread the product on the upper, brush it vigorously. Additionally, you can polish your shoes with a dry cloth.

How to care for black sneakers?

Before you start cleaning your sneakers, be sure to remove the laces. First, shake off stubborn dust and dirt. You can use a hard brush to get rid of mud. 

Then mix warm water and a little dish soap in a bowl to create foam. Dip the brush in it and carefully scrub the entire shoes without immersing them in water. A damp cloth will help you get rid of the foam.

Shoes cleaned this way should under no circumstances be allowed to dry near a direct source of heat. Avoid sunlight, radiators and dryers. Be patient and let them dry on their own. To avoid losing their shape, put rolled up newspapers or rolled socks inside your shoes.

Don't forget about the details!

The sole and laces are often overlooked places when cleaning shoes. Don't make this mistake! Even the most carefully washed black sneakers will not look good if these details remain dirty. 

Use a sponge and dish soap to clean the black rubber. You can wash the laces with black laundry or clean them by hand in a solution of soap and warm water. Dry them flat in a shaded place.

How to save faded black shoes?

Fortunately, it is possible to renovate black shoes whose uppers have lost their original color! In the case of leather shoes, black shoe polish will be useful. Polish your shoes carefully and you're done!

The matter becomes a bit more complicated when you are dealing with suede or fabric footwear. Remember that nothing is impossible, and the only thing you need is a specialized dye that will restore the original shade.

Remember to clean your shoes thoroughly before you start. Remove dirt and dust from your shoes and let them dry. Securing the rubber sole will be equally helpful. You can use thick adhesive tape for this purpose.

Use a soft-bristled brush or a bit of cotton wool to apply the dye to the surface of the shoe. Once the product is completely dry, you can apply another coat to achieve your desired results. Once the process is complete, use a protective spray. This way you will fix the dye and prevent it from running off when in contact with water.

Prevention is better than cure

Although it is possible to restore the black color, it is safer to act according to the principle "prevention is better than cure".
