Practical color

Black is a very practical color. It suits almost all styles and is relatively easy to care for. For this reason, many people choose to buy black shoes.

Some, however, believe that such shoes do not show dirt. Nothing could be more wrong! Black shoes, like any other, may get dirty under the influence of use or even improper storage. Dust, sand and mud collect on it.

Regardless of the color, any uncleaned and untidy shoes can deteriorate faster. If you do not want to invest in a new pair, be sure to read the tips we have prepared for you. This way, your black shoes will always look like new!

How to care for black suede shoes?

Black suede shoes can be a real nuisance. Especially when you forget to impregnate them before the first use. Fortunately, nothing is lost!

It is possible to remove dirt from suede. Get a special soft-bristled brush to help you remove dirt. You can successfully use a clothes roll or adhesive tape to get rid of the remaining animal hair. Then brush the shoes to give them a perfect look.

Remember to impregnate your suede shoes regularly. In this way, you will effectively prevent stubborn stains and unsightly discoloration.

To remove traces of road salt, you will need ... warm milk. All you have to do is dip a soft sponge in a liquid and squeeze off its excess, and then rub it over the place where the streaks appeared. Repeat this action until you are satisfied and enjoy your shoes looking like new.

How to care for black leather shoes?

Black leather shoes are much easier to maintain than suede. Usually, a damp cloth is enough to wipe away dirt and debris.

Baking soda is also useful for stubborn grease stains. Rub it into the upper of the shoe with a wet brush with a fine bristle, and then wipe it with a damp cloth.

Don't forget to oil your leather shoes on a regular basis. In this way, you will not only nourish the material, but also prevent the formation of cracks.

Equally important is the regular polishing of shoes. Get a special shoe polish and rub it carefully on your shoes. For this, you can use an old towel or a used sock. When you thoroughly distribute the product on the upper, brush it vigorously. Additionally, you can polish your shoes with a dry cloth.

How to care for black sneakers?

Before you start cleaning your sneakers, be sure to remove your laces. First, shake off stubborn dust and dirt. You can use a stiff brush to get rid of the mud.

Then, mix warm water and a little washing-up liquid in a bowl to form foam. Dip a brush in it and carefully scrub all shoes without putting them in the water. A damp cloth will help you get rid of the foam.

Shoes cleaned in this way should under no circumstances dry out in direct heat. Avoid sunlight, radiators, and dryers. Be patient and let them dry on their own. To avoid losing shape, tuck rolled up newspapers or rolled up socks inside the shoe.

Don't forget about the details!

The sole and laces are often overlooked when cleaning shoes. Don't make that mistake! Even the most carefully washed black sneakers will not look good when these details are left dirty.

Use a sponge and dishwashing liquid to clean the black rubber. You can wash your laces with a black wash or clean them by hand in a solution of soap and warm water. Dry them flat in a shaded place.

How to save faded black shoes?

Black material has the characteristic of losing its color under the influence of water and light. Are you wondering if your faded black shoes can still be saved, or is it time to write them off?

Fortunately, it is possible to restore black shoes, the upper of which has lost its original color! For leather shoes, black shoe polish will come in handy. Dress your shoes carefully, and you're done!

The matter is a bit more complicated when you are dealing with suede or fabric footwear. Remember that nothing is impossible, and the only thing you need is a specialized dye to restore the original shade.

Remember to thoroughly clean your shoes before proceeding. Get rid of dirt and dust from your shoes and let them dry. Securing the rubber sole will also be helpful. You can use thick scotch tape for this.

Use a soft bristled brush or a bit of cotton wool to apply the dye to the surface of the shoe. When the product is completely dry, you can apply another coat for the desired results. After the process is finished, use a protective spray. In this way, you will fix the dye and prevent it from flowing down when it comes into contact with water.

Better to prevent than to cure

While it is possible to restore the black color, it is safer to follow the principle of "prevention is better than cure".

Remember that regular impregnation and thorough cleaning of shoes is the key to success if you want to enjoy the great condition of black shoes for many years.
