Relax your feet after a long day in shoes. Find out the ways that will bring you relief

Being on your feet all day can be tiring, whether you spend it having fun or working. The muscles in your legs and feet work constantly, making you feel discomfort and even pain after a hard day. Fortunately, we know effective ways that will bring you relief.

Tired after a whole day on your feet

Tiredness after a whole day on your feet is a common problem that affects most people. It may be caused by improper foot structure, injuries, obesity, or even ill-fitting shoes.

In addition to causes that are easy to eliminate, constant work of the leg and foot muscles may contribute to foot pain. Thanks to it, you are able to keep your body stable and in balance.

Contrary to appearances, you don't have to walk all day to feel discomfort. Standing still is even more effort than moving. Blood circulation is then hindered, which may cause swelling and even pain.

Fortunately, we know effective ways that will bring you relief. Let's get started!

Pleasant massage and stretching

Nothing soothes tired feet like a pleasant massage. It will be even more pleasant if someone does it for you. However, if this is not possible, you can successfully make it yourself. Massage improves circulation, reduces tension, stimulates muscles to work and relieves annoying pain.

Use massage oil or regular olive oil and lubricate your feet with it. Then massage them into painful points, focusing on the toes, arch and heel area. You can also use a special massager with protrusions.

For additional relief, soak your feet in special salt beforehand. This action will not only soften rough skin, but also reduce inflammation and pain.

The massage may end with stretching. Feet relaxed by massage are most susceptible to such treatments. Sit comfortably and stretch the joints of your ankles and toes with your hands. If you can't reach, you can use resistance bands designed for exercise, old tights or a belt from your bathrobe.

Frozen water or tennis ball

A great way to relieve yourself after a long day in shoes is... a bottle of frozen water. It's always worth having it in the freezer, even if you're not going to a club and partying until dawn.

To relieve unpleasant foot pain, sit comfortably on a chair or sofa, turn on your favorite series, and put a bottle of frozen water on the floor. Run your feet over it, rolling it back and forth until you feel relief.

Thanks to iced water, the pain will significantly reduce. This is all thanks to cold, which can effectively reduce inflammation in the muscles. Heat therapy is equally helpful. All you need is a shower with pleasantly hot water directed towards the soles of your feet.

Instead of a bottle of frozen water, you can also use a tennis ball. Make circles on the ground while standing or sitting. Just 10 minutes is enough for your feet to feel better! See how simple it is?

Sensory walk

Sensory trails are loved by little ones. They are also appreciated by their parents, who are aware of their beneficial effect on the child's posture. However, nothing stops an adult from taking a sensory walk!

Just a few minutes of barefoot walking on grass, gravel, small pebbles or sand is enough. Although it may seem uncomfortable at first, you won't even know when you will feel relief.

Make sure your shoes fit properly

If none of the methods described bring you relief, the problem may be ill-fitting shoes. They may not rub your heels or cause blisters. However, they may turn out to be too narrow. When it comes to heels, pay attention to arch support.

It will be better if you get rid of poorly shaped and worn shoes. The effects of wearing such shoes can be really unpleasant. Corns, foot deformities and even spine problems are just some of the consequences of wearing improperly fitting shoes.

Good footwear is one that suits you in both length and width, and also provides a little extra room for swollen feet. Shoes that are too stiff and too light may offer insufficient support, so we suggest avoiding such models.

Shoe inserts

Improper posture is also a common cause of foot pain, which additionally burdens them. To properly distribute the load on the foot, it is worth using properly profiled shoe inserts.

Gel inserts will also bring you relief. Before going out, you can chill them in the fridge to help your unaccustomed feet survive long periods of wearing heels.

A visit to the doctor

The last resort may be a visit to a professional doctor. There are many conditions that can cause unbearable foot pain. These include diabetes, heart failure and rheumatoid arthritis.

An experienced specialist will certainly identify the problem and quickly find an effective solution, and healthy feet will quickly repay you by ensuring excellent well-being.
