How to improve your mood and repair damaged heels?

A broken heel or visible scratches are a real nightmare for many women! Long walks on uneven surfaces typical of urban old towns or driving a car in high heels can definitely destroy your favorite heels and, as a result, spoil your good mood. Fortunately, we know ways that will help you save your favorite shoes and improve your mood in the blink of an eye. Let's do it!

Home remedies for repairing damaged heels

Almost every woman has experienced such a situation that at the sight of her favorite worn-out shoes she lost the desire to go out. Regardless of whether your heels were damaged due to improper use (e.g. you used them to drive a car), they were bitten by a cute puppy, or they were scratched during a spontaneous walk on uneven paving stones, you don't have to part with them.

Although you can replace damaged shoes with new ones, it is not necessary. If the shoes were unique and buying a new pair is not an option, or you are not a fan of consumerism, or you have other expenses to worry about, leave them in the hands of a professional. An experienced shoemaker should have no particular problems repairing your favorite pair of shoes.

However, this solution may turn out to be relatively expensive. Fortunately, we know home remedies that will help you save your favorite shoes and improve your mood in the blink of an eye. Let's get started!

Broken heel? The only thing you need is glue

When leaving the house in high heels, remember to put a tube of strong glue in your purse. According to the principle "the prudent is always the safest", you will be able to deal with the problem almost immediately.

It may be a universal instant glue that will also be useful in other unexpected situations. An even better solution will be special shoe glue.

However, if you are dealing with wooden heels, the most effective solution will be to use glue intended for wood.

Remember to use moderation when applying this product. Too much may cause unsightly stains. After applying the glue, press the heel firmly in the appropriate place and hold it for a while, allowing it to dry. When you are sure that the glue is completely dry, pull the heel firmly. This way you can check whether the product holds it tightly enough and start moving forward again.

Patience is the key to success

If the situation is not that critical and you can get in a taxi and get home quickly or you have a spare pair of shoes with you, be patient. A repair carried out without haste will certainly prove to be more durable and effective, and you will not have to repeat the process in a short period of time.

After returning home, carefully clean the heel and sole of the shoe, removing all dirt and remnants of old glue. You certainly don't want one shoe to be slightly higher than the other. You can also rub the same places with sandpaper to even better prepare the surface for gluing.

Then wipe the place where the heel is glued to the shoe with a cotton pad soaked in alcohol. Wait until it evaporates and start working. Glue the heel in place and leave the shoes overnight. If you want to enhance the effect, you can secure the whole thing with rubber bands while it dries.

How to replace worn-out tips?

The insoles wear out much faster than other parts of the shoe. Worn and uneven surfaces can cause your shoes to wobble dangerously. Remember that you should not wait until the last minute, when the flakes will completely wear off.

Replacing damaged cleats yourself is a simpler task than you might think. Many manufacturers add a pair of extra shoes to the shoe box. Just take the old ones out and put the new ones in their place. To make sure everything went as planned, you can gently tap the area with a hammer.

Do it yourself! Give new life to damaged heels

Shabby and scratched heels look really unsightly and take away the charm of even the most beautiful high heels. Fortunately, your shoes can be saved with home remedies.

If you are dealing with small scratches, you can successfully paint over them. Use a waterproof marker or nail polish for black shoes. The matter becomes a bit more complicated in the case of less classic colors. Don't worry if you have trouble matching the color completely. Fortunately, a small scratch covered with a slightly different shade of the same color should not be visible to the naked eye.

If the heels of your favorite shoes are very damaged, you can do a little DIY project. Wipe them thoroughly from dirt and debris, and then glue them around with strong glue. Without waiting for it to dry, sprinkle them with a thick layer of glitter. Apply glue and glitter again and repeat this step until you achieve the desired end result. Spray the whole thing with hairspray and leave to dry overnight.

As you can see, in most cases, repairing damaged heels yourself is very simple. Remember, however, that the more serious the damage, the higher the likelihood that a visit to a shoemaker will become inevitable.
