Chunky boots – how to wear massive ankle boots with flowing dresses?
Chunky soles are still popular! See how to combine heavy workers and platform boots with delicate, airy dresses to create a stylish contrast in the spirit of modern grunge.

The power of contrast - heavy shoe, light top
Massive boots with a thick sole, i.e. the so-called chunky boots are a trend that does not lose strength. Although at first glance they seem clumsy and heavy, in fact they are extremely universal. They look best in styles based on contrast - combined with light, airy clothing items. How to achieve this striking grunge look without losing femininity?
Romantic grunge – midi dresses and workers
The combination of heavy workers' boots with a delicate floral dress is a classic that always works. Choose a midi or maxi dress with a slit that will reveal the upper of the shoe. Add a leather biker jacket or an oversized jacket. This set is the perfect balance between rock style and romantic girlishness. Remember not to overdo it with accessories - shoes are a strong enough accent here.
Mini and platforms – optical slimming
Chunky boots also look great with short mini skirts. To avoid a vulgar effect, choose thick, black tights (opaque) and a looser top, e.g. a thick-knit sweater tucked partly behind the belt. The thick sole visually slims the legs, and the high upper adds character. This is the perfect style for autumn walks or meetings with friends.
What about pants? Cargo and wide leg
If you prefer trousers, chunky boots look best with straight or wide leg models that fall slightly over the shoe but do not cover it completely. You can also tuck your pant legs in (military style) if you have cargo pants or joggers. Avoid combining them with very tight tubes, unless you want to achieve the "stick in your shoe" effect.
