Continuing the previous article, this time we will focus on preparing other autumn shoes for all rainy trips. We certainly have a variety of shoes in our wardrobe that need to be taken care of properly. Not every person uses leather equivalents. Let's consider how to care for other shoes, just before the season.

What condition are your shoes in?

This is a very important question. The actual condition of your shoes this fall depends on it. It is worth doing some post-holiday cleaning and assessing which pairs you definitely need to part with and which ones can still be left and used, for example for the warm half of September. Say goodbye to leaky and damaged shoes. This year's humidity may destroy them faster, and the person wearing them may easily catch a cold. Taking care of shoes is very important, especially for children. They often come up with the idea of running through puddles after school, wearing shoes other than wellingtons that provide good protection.

Check whether the shoes are not dirty. If unfortunately you didn't clean them before winter, you should do it now - especially if they are shoes that need to be waterproofed. Protect against dirt and moisture. Don't do it on dirt, it will fix it.

How to clean and protect autumn footwear?

We have already mentioned leather shoes here. However, it is worth considering cleaning other types of shoes. These are universal and eternally fashionable suede shoes. Suede hates moisture. Therefore, these shoes should not be wiped with a wet cloth. It is worth doing it dry, with a soft brush dedicated to shoes. If we don't have one, we can decide to use a toothbrush of similar softness.

We are also increasingly choosing nubuck shoes. This is the vegan equivalent of leather shoes. It is characterized by roughness, but it is slightly softer than in the case of natural material. Nubuck also needs to be treated dry. This means using a delicate brush that will remove dried dirt such as mud or salt. Thanks to this, the shoes will be in better condition. Finally – a must! – protect them with a special dedicated preparation, i.e. an impregnation. You will be sure that the shoes will withstand the worst weather changes.
