• Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL® - shock-absorbing system ASICS Gel is probably the best known of all ASiCS technologies. To provide the feeling of the greatest possible shock absorption, the Gel units have been strategically placed in the midsole of the shoe. For the cushioning system ASICS Gel uses a variety of materials. Depending on the function, the Gel units contain silicone enclosed in polyurethane capsules. SpEVA increases comfort and improves cushioning by using three different material densities: a density of 45 for high shock absorption and flexibility of the sole, a density of 55 for greater stiffness and stability to increase the pace of running, and a density of 66 to increase stiffness so as to minimize the process of sole deformation. The material improves rebound characteristics and lowers the risk of midsole breakage.
